Do colleges look at unweighted or weighed (honors classes factored in)?

Also, if I want to get a scholarship how does GPA play a role? If one goes to a competitive suburban high school where it is difficult to get into the top 10 percent of the class, would a college still consider giving a scholarship to someone who is not in the top 10 percent?

I am a good student. I try hard, though I know I could do better. My current grades are all As and Bs, the occasional C. I have the oppurtunity to take an AP history course next year, as opposed to honors history. From what I've heard, I will need to identify 100-200 terms, write several essays (my enemy) and read 3-4 books to qualify for history. That, and the qorkload during school is not very enticing, but there are some perks. I will have the opputunity to improve academically and there is no doubt that AP courses look good on college applications. However, I am but sure I'm up for such a rigorous course. Any suggestions?

Please tell me, in your own words, what (if anything) is wrong with the US educational system. What are the exact problems? Can you think of solutions to these problems?

In comparison to other countries, why do American students consistantly lag behind in standardized tests? What do foriegn countries do differently than the American system of education?

I just took one and I never thought to ask/check what the scores meant. I figured they would have included a description along with my score.

Dont be specific to any particular board or university exam level.

Make it to broader level, and suggest solution, implementable by person of any age group.

Please give useful tips and suggestions too.

I have an exam next Wednesday and was wondering if there are any tips on how I can learn better and how I can best swat for the exam. I have a decent enough memory and am fairly intelligent but have been out of the habit of sitting exams for a long time. Maybe some of you young uns have some insight into what I can do to help me get the most out of it.

Like...
How much time did you allow for studying?
How did you go about studying?
Things you did to help with recall?
How did you fit time into your schedule to study?
How did you keep yourself focus on the task at hand?
Etc.?

I hope you will help me. If I can get college credit...

The test is on May 11. It will be here before I know it.
