Writing helps with memorization. USE INDEX CARDS! Sacrifice a few hours by finding a nice quiet place and going through each chapter, pulling out key facts that may appear on your exam. Also, put vocabulary words/ definitions on cards. Convert the fact into question form, writing the question on the front of the index, and write the answer on back (write only 1 question/ answer per card). Set a goal to use all of your index cards (50-100 per pack), causing you to extract as much info. from the text as possible.
After sacrificing those few hours (don't wait until the last minute), you can take the cards with you wherever you go and pull them out whenever you have idle time (PLUS MAKE TIME) like waiting for your Dr. Appt.,during your lunch break, being a passenger on a bus or in a car etc. Keep them in a ziplock bags (1 bag per subject). They fit great in a purse, bookbag, coat pocket etc. Very easy to tote around.
Start by memorizing 5 cards, then add 2 more to those 5, then 2 more to those 7, then 2 more to those 9 and so on. Put a rubber band around the stack of cards you pretty much know/currently memorizing and a rubber band around the stack you NEED to memorize. Make a mental game of it for yourself. Set goals. Don't add on cards until you are extremely familiar with the ones your memorizing. Once you make it through the deck, you'll be pretty much ready for your exam.
REMEMBER, your biggest study sacrifice will be getting the facts on the index cards. Be creative in finding times to study the index cards. No lugging around books ALL the time (just sometimes).
This work very well if done with self discipline.

For me spending time alone studying is the best way! Then after I have absorbed the information that's the time I mingle with others and form a study group where we ask questions.

the best way to study is to enjoy what you do. You should love your studies in order for you to learn in the best way. because if you are studying just because of exams or competitions only, you will feel bored. If you feel bored, then, noyhing will be inculcated to your mind.

It depends on what you are supposed to know. If you need to memorize things it helps me when I write things down. Also, rewrite your notes. Color coding them helps also (i.e. civil laws in red and criminal laws in orange, etc.)
