I have an exam next Wednesday and was wondering if there are any tips on how I can learn better and how I can best swat for the exam. I have a decent enough memory and am fairly intelligent but have been out of the habit of sitting exams for a long time. Maybe some of you young uns have some insight into what I can do to help me get the most out of it.

Try to make a study plan and
STICK to it. Decide what you want to cover break, it up onto manageable chunks and remember to have regular breaks. Go out for a walk clean the car or something and then go back to work fresh.
Try to find what works best for you we all learn in different ways. I like to write lots of notes some people, just read It also depends what your studying. Are there practical things that might help? Could you work on problems with a friend?
Just don't panic its amazing the information your brain can produce on the day. Sometimes I've read my own answers later and been really surprised at the things I came up with.Hope this is some help.
Good luck

During my final a-levels I used cards and stuck them everywhere so when I walked past them I could read them (the mirror etc). Apparently recording your revision on tape and listening to it while you go to sleep. Or mindmaps (just writing it all on a big bit of paper as apparentely the more its writtn the more it sinks in)Also if poss get previous test papers the questions are always repeated evry 4-5 years and are just worded differentely.

Good Luck!

Everyone remembers information differently.Taking notes and making flash cards work for me. If I write it down then I will remember it better. The trick is not to memorize information but actually learn it. The brain remembers better if you actually involve yourself in the information. For example make flashcards for vocabulary, use the words in sentences, highlight important information in books, experience the knowledge the best way you learn and you will remember it!

Once you know everything you can, then you have no need to worry! Get a good nights sleep, get everything ready well in advance and leave with pleanty of time to get there with scope for unforseeable problems.

Just stay calm, and you will be fine.
