I'm supposed to take the SAT for the third time on Saturday. My reading and writing scores are high (690 and 770), but my math score is quite a bit lower (470, yes I know it's horrible). The second time I took it, my math score went down 30 points. I decided I would take the SAT again, because my mother said I could have a tutor. She ended up breaking her promise, and now I'm completely stuck as to what to do. I am sure that if I take the SAT again, my math score will not go up. Due to block scheduling/scheduling conflicts, I have not had a math class since sophomore year; I'm a senior now (I will have enough math to graduate). My mother has said I can do any of the three following things:
1) Take the SAT on Saturday
2) Switch my test date to November (however, I am nearly done with college applications and I'm worried my scores won't even matter by this time)
3) Not take the SAT on Saturday (she doesn't care about the money involved)

What do you think is my best option? Thanks!

Even I couldn't do that, and I live here!

And if you know, when calculating the % correct, is it based on 100 q's, or just the number that you actually have time to answer? (assuming they must ask a certain minimum number of q's? Say 60 q's.)??

I have been diagnosed with Tourette's Syndrome when I was 8, and now at the age of 13, am still living with it (as most of you may know, you can't really get rid of it). I recently became very interested in my IQ, so I took an IQ test (one of the online ones, I know it's probably not as accurate), and to my surprise, my IQ was only 122 (Weschler Scale). However, I realized that, as I was taking the test, I did have trouble focusing, and even now as I write this, I have been stopped at least seven times due to an uncontrollable tic. Can Tourette's Syndrome (or ADD, or OCD) affect an IQ test score? Is it possible that my actual IQ is higher?

If you talk to someone and ask 'Do you know your IQ?' some people will say no and others say about 138. From the people I have spoken to the average IQ is about 140 and my girlfriend is a genius. Can't anyone tell we know they are lying?

I was just reading this article (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/10/10/AR2006101001475.html?referrer=email) What it's saying is, they don't teach kids how to write in cursive as much as they us. I'm 34 and I can write in cursive and I can type so why can't they teach these kids how to write? I'm appalled at this article! Our children won't be able to read WWI or WWII letters that were written home by the soldiers, they won't be able to read the original documents written in history. What has our educators come to? If you don't want to help our children, then why be a teacher?

I'm in 10th grade, and I signed up last minute. The test is in 8 days. I would like information about the general format of the exam, whether or not it has essays, and similar information. I have not studied for it in any way, since I just signed up, but I am not very worried in that respect because, being in 10th grade, I am taking it as practice for the SAT, and nothing else. Next year, in 11th grade, I'll take the PSAT again to aim for scholarship money. I would greatly appreciate any information that you may have about the PSAT exam. Thank you!
