I'm in 10th grade, and I signed up last minute. The test is in 8 days. I would like information about the general format of the exam, whether or not it has essays, and similar information. I have not studied for it in any way, since I just signed up, but I am not very worried in that respect because, being in 10th grade, I am taking it as practice for the SAT, and nothing else. Next year, in 11th grade, I'll take the PSAT again to aim for scholarship money. I would greatly appreciate any information that you may have about the PSAT exam. Thank you!

Also, I'd like to know whether or not a TI-83 Plus is allowed, and if it is allowed on the entire math section, or just parts of it.

it's totally easy don't sweat it... and it's nothing like the real sat, the sats are harder. there's no essay, there is on the sat, it is just a math section and a verbal section (english)

Just study a lot of vocabulary words, learn all the grammar and sentence structures, and do a lot of standardized math problems over and over again. However, if you gave it your best shot and still end up with a mediocre score, then screw the PSAT for this year. Study over summer '07 and you'll do better next year. Good luck!

Read this guide as soon as you can. I got 2 perfect scores in math and reading, but my writing score was only 720, for a total of 2320. I only read this SAT guide, and that is how I got such high scores:

I recommend this guide to anyone seeking to get a higher score to get into a first choice college.

looking back...

i don't see the function of the PSAT.

Don't they have booklets in the counselor's office or something? It's not hard. It was actually kind of fun to me. My first serious big test. ha
