OK, here's the scoop: A friend's child is struggling in his studies. The child is in the third grade, and he cannot read, write, or perform mathematics at grade level. Moreover, the child is diagnosed with dyslexia and ADD. My friend cannot afford tutoring for his child, the school seems to be apathetic about the child's academic plight (so I was told), and he is doomed to repeat the third grade (so I was told). Any advice or suggestions on how I can install study skills, teach the three R's, and motivate the child to work hard from mediocrity to excellence will always be appreciated. Please reply. Thank you in advance as you are a lifesaver! :)

Im training to be a teachers aid special and have a few assessments on special needs. Im especially looking for people from NSW to answer just a few easy questions but will take others from all over Australia also! My questions to ask about your experiences in school with a disability and I am ESPECIALLY interesting in people who are hearing impaired OR have physical disabilities of any description. But also interested in anyones experience. If you are interested please email me through this or send chat to me through zaid62000
I really really appreciate this. None of your details AT ALL will be used in my work and I don't need to know any of your details (just your email or chat address so we can communicate). As I said you can either send me a chat through yahoo OR email through this service and I will email you back my email address also.

Do any of you know of any breakthroughs or success stories concerning dyslexics who have found a way to recognize words and sentences that made them think "Aha!" or "Eureka!"? My nephew suffers from this but is otherwise very bright. I look for new findings now and then. Thanks a lot for any help.

I'm in 6th grad and am VERY passionate about becoming a special education teacher! What are some good coleges(SP?) for that feild? By the way, If there are any special education teachers out there that could give me some advise, that would be great! Please don't tell me that I should have a more open mind on what I want to be, or that it is not a good feild to be in, or that my dreams will probably change. I have wanted to do this since the end of 1st grade!

Thanks a ton!

My son is 4 and in early education. I fear the future when he is in a "regular" classroom with kids who are not autistic. Do you have children who are a bit older in regular classes or grown up. I worry about his life and what he will be like when older.

What have you heard is the best tutoring company? I'm trying to find somewhere where I can learn advanced math for an affordable, high-quality education that will really help in school.

I've heard of Kumon, Silvan Learning Center, and Huntingdon or something like that and others, and am not sure where to go!!
