All schools are supposed to offer special needs classes. Go to your local elementary school and talk to the principal. He/she can get you started and perhaps offer suggestions. Sometimes something as simple as Head Start can help. One thing: DO NOT let a so-called professional tell you what your child can or cannot learn to do. No one can predict a child's future. I was told that my son would never read, write, graduate or hold a job.I told her she was full of it. Well, guess what. He did all those things and even attended Vo-Tech school. He now lives in a group home and has a job. I was very pro-active in his education and I sought out things to help stimulate him. I proved her wrong on all counts. Be involved. Your daughter will blossom because of it.

Is she receiving early childhood special education services? If she is in the US, she is legally entitled to them. If so, and you are not happy with her services, have you discussed this with her service coordinator? Federal law requires every state to serve children 3-5 years old with special needs. If you can document that she is not showing progress, you could ask for more services. You could ask to see your child's data, for example. If she is in special ed, she and you have rights.
If you are looking for additional services, you could look into private clinics and hospitals. Without knowing the specifics, it's difficult to know exactly what type of services you are looking for. How long has she been in her current 'program'? Maybe the program needs to make more accommodations for her. Change how she does work and help her to learn more.

Call the dept Education and ask if they have a listing of schools they could recommend, also make inquires at you pediatricians office, ask friends who may have children with similar needs, and of course what ever special need that your child has I am sure that a organization has been set up with lots of info, so do your research on line and off seek out a advocate for your needs or become one.

Perhaps we can further help if you tell us what state you are wondering about. Otherwise I would check your local state board of education site for special schools.
