Did Thomas Jefferson, or did he not, say something to the effect of "When you sacrifice privacy for the sake of security, in the end you have neither." ?? If he did, could you please give me the exact quote?

Thanks in advance!

there are three men who want to buy cars each costing 10 pounds.these men gave their 30 pounds to their friend who knew where to get the cars.when the friend went to where the cars were sold, the supplier of the cars gave him a discount of 5pounds since the friend had brought custormers.the friend went and gave the men their cars and also gave them one pound each from the 5% he was given.which means that the three men had bought the cars 9 pounds each hence all three cars costed 27 pounds.the friend was left with 2 pounds in his pocket.so if we say 27 pounds(money the cars were bought) plus 2 pounds in the friend's pocket that give us 29 pounds so where did the other one pound go?????????

The most likely answers had already been given. Here is the Q:

"Question: My mum who is 70 has a saying "belly of its spots". Can any one tell me what it means and its origin

Question Details: Don't you and your mum talk much, why not bond a little and ask her.

Deleted Answer: Don't you and your mum talk much, why not bond a little and ask her.

Reason of Violation:Insulting Other Participants"

What happened to this being a light hearted pastime? I guess it is one way to get me to kick the habit! My apologies to the asker but really this was not meant to be offensive just light hearted banter.

A famous Friedrich Nietzsche quote goes, "And when you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss also gazes into you." What did he mean by that? When/where did this quote first appear?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The four super attitudes that isolate human potential are Egotism, Racism, Perfectionism, and Stubborn.

Perfectionism:

I want to learn from the best teacher, trainer, etc…
I won’t write, ask, and act until I am really good.
I won’t read his book because he is not a popular author.
There is a 1% probability that the answer is wrong, so I am not going to believe it.

Racism:

He/she has different skin colour, therefore, I am not going to learn anything that related to their race, eg. music, book, art, religion, etc.

Egotism:

I believed in the best master, and learned the best knowledge; therefore, I am the best, and nothing can change my mind.

He has no degree, I won't learn from him.

What I believe is right, because there are billions of people have the same believe as me.

I already knew the materials, no need to tell me any more.

Stubborn:

I am who I am, no need to change.
My teacher, parents, religion says that is wrong, so that is wrong

"We banded together and in our union, we found strength. We found a few others who were like us, different in language and custom, and a part of our loneliness was gone. When the winter set in we moved into the auditorium and there, although many a meal was eaten in complete silence, we felt we belonged. We struggled against the feeling of loneliness that gnawed at our souls and we overcame it; that feeling I never shared again with anyone, not even with Horse and Bones, or the Kid and Samuel, or Cico and Jasón."

It starts something like "to experience great love," and then ends with something like "opens yourself to great pain." That's the gist of it. Does anyone know what the exact quote is?
