The most likely answers had already been given. Here is the Q:

"Question: My mum who is 70 has a saying "belly of its spots". Can any one tell me what it means and its origin

Question Details: Don't you and your mum talk much, why not bond a little and ask her.

Deleted Answer: Don't you and your mum talk much, why not bond a little and ask her.

Reason of Violation:Insulting Other Participants"

What happened to this being a light hearted pastime? I guess it is one way to get me to kick the habit! My apologies to the asker but really this was not meant to be offensive just light hearted banter.

Its amazing how the answers to this question are rolling in! The Q I answered only had three answers! Long may the light hearted banterers live!!

To be light hearted is not necessarily to not take the issues seriously but to address them in a more light hearted way. For example I would say it was a serious thought that the asker could have asked the person themselves but I put it in a tongue in cheek way.

These are all great answers and the question and answers I've enjoyed most on Yahoo. I have had another violation notice for even less than this so thanks to you all who alerted me to the possibility! Cheers.

Y/A seems to have lost its direction in this nanny state and politically correct time we are living in. I get loads of violations and even q's removed, which by the way are jokes.I only put jokes on here to brighten up peoples days. Lighten up and smile, it can only upset the person who reported you. By the way I thought your answer was a good one

OK, I'll go with your thoughts as I don't see this as a violation. BUT it may not have been the asker who put you in violation. ANYONE can report you and you don't know who reported you unless they tell you. NOW, secondly When you are placed under violation you can respond to the said violation to Yahoo Answers. I have been report a few times for violating community guidelines. I have responded to several of them. And much to my surprise I actually had my deleted points restored or given back after I responded to my last violation. Oh one other thing, I don't think you owe the asker an apology.

I have a few of those myself. Of course when I call someone a moron, or accuse them of having the I.Q. of a Popsicle stick, I guess I should expect it. Even if the remarks are true.

You were being very nice and in my opinion offering a constructive suggestion.

I might have told her to go talk to the old woman. After all at 70 she may not have many days left. Or maybe one foot in the grave. Watch, I'll get violated for that, and if I do I'm going to blame you forever.

Hey, have a great time, hope you break the record for answers to a single question.

i am in agreement with you----i just had a violation response for the same thing----NOW mind you I responded to the question as follows: Stupid ? but thanx for the 2 points. My response was reported as insulting the participant.

The question the person wrote was just awful. It was something about sucking the poison out of some guy if a snake bit him on the head of his genitalia.

I think the person had nothing better to do but report me for insulting his stupid question.

This should be a light hearted pasttime but some people get their jollies by being mean on here.

I'm in total agreement with you. Your question and hopefully my responses are light hearted and to the point!

final week for inquiring for prayers--it exchange right into a query. I blocked the only guy or woman who reported that they theory it exchange right into a contravention and had different shoppers assure me that it exchange into not. I study over the section approximately solicitation which exchange into for sure framed to rule out people who're merchandising some thing and appealed and alter into denied. I talked approximately that i had not earnings reason. merely FYI i wouldn't in any respect have stated every physique for asking a query approximately Darwinism or athieism, or the different team. I even have given appropriate answer to a wiccan on considered one of my questions and a Muslim, becuase they for sure had the appropriate answer. I help the main appropriate of every physique here to ask a deferential question from thier viewpoint. i'm saddened to study what others here have been stated for it form of feels recommend lively. i presumed with the hot warnings approximately reporting too plenty or evenly human beings would desire to get in problem and it could give up a number of this. yet apparently not.

I agree with the other party. What can't you ask her what it means? To ask you that was neither insulting nor derogatory. And it does make your question look a little daft if you are asking people on here to explain somethign you own parent says.
I can understand you wanting to know WHERE it comes from, but to criticise someone for pointing out that perhaps you have a primary/secondary source at your disposal is at best churlish and at worse, extremely petty.
Sorry, but you did ask.

Sometimes what we say in our head sounds very different once it's written down and can be misinterpreted. I can see why you got a violation for this particular one, as the asker clearly thought you were have a dig at them personally.
Don't worry, just put it behind you and don't whatever you do leave YA!

Personally I do not think it justified a violation. But somebody obviously DID. Probably the asker, when I think about it.

But if it's a lighthearted pastime, why get annoyed about it?

I get loads of violation notices.

I don't think that should have been a violation for insulting!!
If people don't want to be insulted from time to time, don't ask questions on here...And who decides if it's insulting? Does the Yahoo team decide whos feelings are suppose to be hurt and whos aren't? Are they the feeling police?

Some old f@rts with no life and no sense of humor like to report others. And that also goes for the sensory comittee of the site who sustain these a$$holes' objections. So much freedom of speech is being opressed here in the name of "family values". #p theirs! to all the hypocrites!
