I'm a preschool teacher of the 2 1/2 yr old class and would like to know what parents want their kids to know before the age of 3. This will help me in my guidelines and curriculum of my classroom. Thanks for your help.

I am a preschool teacher. My director recently enrolled an almost 4 year old boy who is not potty trained. He will only go pee when asked to, and has an absolute tantrum when asked to sit on the toilet to go poop. I'm tired of cleaning him, and this behavior cannot continue. He is taking away from my time with the other 11 children in my classroom who are all 3 and ALL potty trained completely. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you in advance to any suggestions.

My school district has an early free Pre-K program at the local elementary school, but because my son speaks English he was disqualified. Is this supposed to be happening in America?

every day except Sunday. I feel really bad for her. Is this a good thing or no? The day care is really neat, I make pop visits once a week and the kids and teachers are having a great time. What do you think? I live too far away and work or I'd spring her!

I just got my son's preschool trimester report and he is not consistent with his colors and numbers. I've talked to other parents who have 3 year olds with a bigger vocabulary. Me and my wife are very quiet people and are having a hard time relating to our son. We really love him a lot and I would like to know if there are any online sites that could help me to interact more with him. Please help.

I have Five little monkeys; fat sausages; currant buns; ducks. If you have any more together with actions that would be great.

Plus any ideas for games to play with 11 month old babies please.

My son is just refusing to follow the teachers directions. He is very nice and polite about it but we are at the end of our ropes. She uses a "red light" system for behavior and a treasure chest. Any ideas of things that "worked for you"? He has been on "red" almost everyday since the beginning

At my son’s most recent well child doctor appointment, his doctor did a few tests with him on ABC’s and numbers. She said that he is ready to start Kindergarten (he is currently in preschool) in August 2008 at the age of 4, going on 5 in October 2008.

My question is, should we put him in Kindergarten at the age of 4 next August 2008 or should we wait until his is 5 in August of 2009?

The reason I ask is that I have been told by several people that boys take longer to mature. If we wait just one more year, he will be that much more mature and end up doing a lot better in school. What should we do?

I just started teaching a preschool class at a small private school. Right now I have 3 that are 3 year olds and next year will be their preschool year. Emotionally these little ones are not ready for Preschool. It's just educated daycare in the mornings. I teach them for 3 hours a day and need a suggestion for a simple schedule and some ideas. I'm having fun but am running our of creative ideas. We use the Abeka Preschool teaching books but the books are hard for 3 year olds so I'm using other teaching materials when I can find them Thanks.....

I teach English at an overseas private preschool. I have a 4-year old student who witnessed domestic violence on his mom (not sure if he himself was direct victim of it). Parents divorced recently and now live in different countries. The mom tells me that, at home, her child constantly hits other children including his baby sister . At school he is not violent but disobedient and uninterested (who would?). He goes from being quiet to being disruptive. He rarely changes the sad expression on his face. The few times he plays with other children, he plays well, though. He's well liked.

We started school in September but just last week found out about the abuse through other teachers! So, unfortunately he was frequently placed in "time-out" which now I know made things even worse for him. The school has no school psychologists or counselors; it's not part of the culture. Please, I want to help this child as much as my limited position permits. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I have my resume ready and everything but I'm so nervous. I don't want to just email them the resume because a lot of people want this position. So i want to go there and talk to them. I think I'll do a really good job and I'm enrolling in an early childhood education college soon. I love kids and I'll work hard. But I'm so nervous. I can't force myself to go.....
