How do I go about making this happen? What should my major be? Should I ask for a goverment grant to start? How do I get attention of future sponsor? Yeah, my vision is kind of big. Anything's possible right? I really want to help kids of Haiti and Sudan. Around the world. Help. Oh, and be nice with the answers. Don't make me feel silly for asking.

Why do people think that public schools are preparing kids for the 'real world'?The real world does not consist of people stuck in crowded rooms with other people the same age for 8 hours a day,nor does it consist of people getting beatup after work for wearing glasses.this is not the real world. Also, whats wrong with home schooling?okay,so public school kids get to sit around with other kids the same age, without being allowed to talk to eachother, for the majority of the day. oh wow.Home schoolers can actually interact to different people, instead of just teachers, principals, and bulleys. Now,being beat up doesen't help kids prepeare for the real world either.Whoever thinks that is oviously never been bulleyed,or is a bulley.Do you think that geeks(kids with huge glasses and retaners)are going to look back at they're school years with fondness, and be able to tell they're kids how nice public school is? no.Kids who get picked on get they're spirits crushed and beaten.

I'm looking for the title on a story i read when i was in middle school. It was about a little girl that was born deaf and blind and a teacher was brought in to help her. We read the story and the teacher then showed us the video. The video was black and white. I'm trying to find all the old stories that where converted into movies. Please if you guys remember any it would be great! I found to kill a mocking bird by hitchcock.

My daughter and her daughter are friends. I have gotten to know the mom and she is really hung up on the fact that we homeschool. She says things like "I just couldn't take my children away from their friends like that." and "I would trust the education of my children to a teacher over you any day". It has not yet dawned on her that our daughters became friends outside of school which kind of blows her whole theory of socialization out of the water. I tried to explain that homeschoolers usually educate their own children but when some one "is the worlds for most authority on EVERYTHING" it is rather useless. My daughter has plenty of friends. I don't want to exclude this one little girl because her mother is so obnoxious but I don't want to be around her either. Just looking for suggestions? I already educate my kids I don't want to take on the burden of educating those who open their mouth in regard to stuff they know nothing about.

Unschooling is a homeschool practice in which the parent allows the child to lead his or her own learning - to follow their own interests and to let those interests dictate what they pursue. Strewing - the practice of intentionally planting items of potential interest within easy reach of the child - is the primary mechanism for influencing the direction of interest.
