Me and my wife have a whole room in our house that is the classroom ...we have 2 desks one for each of our kids. We have a real standard size chalkboard, bulletin boards (that my wife decorates) we have artwork on the walls ....we have a computer desk with 2 side by side computers for the kids to use. My wife has her laptop to use. We have a high price copy machine/ printer and scanner....for all worksheets. We have a reading area, also writing area. I love it....I was just wondering what kind of set ups other parents have for their homeschooled children? Is it the dining room table? Ours use to be while we were waiting to get our classroom furniture in. :) God Bless Homeschooling Families! (cause it's truly a labor of love)

I plan to homeschool and I am weighing my options of a formal curriculum or putting together my own. I would like a guide to refer to so I don't miss teaching something.

I want to send a gift certificate to my sister-in-law so she can purchase educational materials for my nephews. However, I want to avoid common suppliers such as Amazon.com because I then doubt the money will go to the kids. My brother spoils his children with toys, but doesn't honor family wishes to use money for more practical purchases for the boys. And he's not above using the money on himself.

Im going to be home schooled next year. im going to be 15 next year. Can i still have a teen job while being homeschooled? Its because on about.com teen jobs, i read that you can work certain hours and stuff on school days. This talked about high school public school. Does this mean that you can work because of you being homeschooled. I just hope homeschooling gives the same rights/privileges as a highschoool...

I am checking out all possibilties for educating my daughter. She will be of school age next Sept, so I'm doing my research now. I'm considering homeschooling. I need to know though; how do you feel about "giving up" your life to stay home with your child/children? Do you ever resent it? I'm worried that if I homeschool, I won't have the opportunity to return to the workforce. I'm afraid I'll never have a "break". I'm afraid I'll go "crazy" not having adult interaction on a daily basis. Thanks in advance.

If the kid asks to go to regular school, will the parents consider doing this, or will they just make them stay in home school?

Starting next week, my daughter will be homeschooled. Her current school system sucks, and they do not offer the education she needs as a gifted student. We decided to give her a few weeks to "deschool" but I would like to find some further resources for homeschooling info/materials/resources. Anyone know of good places to look?

For all you people out there who always answer questions in the "home schooling" section, and say that you don't like homeschoolers, because they don't learn as well, or they have social problems, I would like to ask all of you a question. How many of you actually know/have known a homeschooler? And for this question they had to have been homeschooled for like 2 or more years to count. I'm just wondering because I've never noticed that I've had, and nobody has ever said I've had social problems because I was homeschooled Kindergarten-7th grade, and I've heard of many others who don't either.

Hi, I'm home educated by my parents and happy that way and have been for 2 years now. But I was a little concerned of what future career I would have after finishing home education.

In other words where could I apply for GSCES or other exams or gain the skills to get a goo job.

I'm currently 14 years old and only have two years left in home education. Best answer will get 5 star rating, postive feedback and a postive vote.
