Congrats on being homeschooled! It has to do with age not school. At 15, federal guidelines state that you can only work a certain amount of hours per week unless you're emancipated.

As for the hours you can work, most jobs offered to high school students (public or homeschooled) are after school and weekends. There should be no problem for you as a homeschooler. I homeschooled my daughters through high school and my older daughter worked as a waitress at a small, local cafe.
You will have to abide by the same laws as a public school student, but should have no additional problems. You should check into your state's specific laws on child labor so you know what limitations you have, and also what your rights are so you will not be abused by an employer.
If you are discriminated against because of being a homeschooler, you may want to ask your parents for assistance, and perhaps legal counsel.
My older daughter joined the U.S. Army with her homeschool "transcripts" and "diploma" signed by me. They were listed as her official government education records. My younger daughter chose college and was accepted as a homeschool graduate. I only had to type a brief letter, informing them of what we did for her education, and like anyone, she had to pass the ACT.
You should have all of the same opportunities as any public school student.
Good Luck!
Sue

Work hours are set up by the labor board. They apply to all school aged children for their safety. They would apply to all teens home schooled or public schooled.

Yes you can. Talk to you charter school advisor. I have a nephew that is home school and he is 15 and has a job. Their are restriction on the hours and type of work. You can work at 14. Go to your states labor board and check on your state laws.
If you are planning to go to college forget about working. The more time you spend now will save you time studying in college.

Foro ne don't listen to a damned thing a high school tells you, they are one of them organizations that wants you to beleive that they are the only way, like they say that a GED is a dead end road when in fact I know people with better jobs with GEDs then people I know with diaplomas, and two yes you can work a job, I did and I went back to school and I still work it. Washing dishes or waiting tables is great but select a resteraunt that has high traffic if going for a waitress job, low traffic for dishwasher, it will come in handy if you can do it, good luck.
