I am in an online school. It seems harder to me but my parents are saying it is not. What are the benefits and drawbacks of an online school.

I attended an online university, the work itself is probably the same but the instruction received makes a major difference in being able to understand the concepts and assignments. Lack of personal communications with the professor in an online atmosphere creates another level of difficulty. Also, there is an accountability factor in showing up to a classroom where attendance is being watched. In an online atmosphere you are on your own to have the will power and want to attend and complete assignments. There is also the lack of social intertwining, as there are no fellow students to go over and study with.

Well, it is harder in the social sense. It can also be harder if you have a professor who does not make himself/herself readily available to you. It would say it's probably a bit easier to get your work done, though that doesn't make the work less difficult, because you don't have all those hidden time wasters like walking back and forth to class, waiting on professors, etc.

Drawbacks are that you don't get the same social life, benefits are that you get better learning time, but it also means that there is less one-on-one teaching.

You don't get hands-on.
