Is there anyone in the Peachtree City GA area who would be willing to meet me at Starbucks at any time to give me some help/input with homeschooling?
I have just been thrown in to homeschooling my Stepsons and I am in desperate need of help.

Homeschooling is determined by your local laws and some state laws. Contact the school board and ask for their information on home schooling. This will tell you how to get affiliated and how to report your children's grades.

next you will need to select a curriculum. If you are able to set up the curriculum yourself, then you can take the time to do that, other wise I would check on the net for homeschooling sites and curriculums that area available there.

I homeschooled my daughter using the Robinson Curriculum, and she did fair. I would rather have used something more disciplined in all the subjects. Make sure that the curriculum you select is accepted by your local school or affiliate.

Here's the website for the Peachtree City home school support group
http://www.pchsg.org/

You also need to contact your local school board for a "homeschool packet". The packet will have in it the laws for homeschooling in Georgia and a monthly attendance report. It is very important that you fill out the attendance report and send it in on time every month. Also go to www.ghea.org (Georgia Home Educators Association) and www.heir.org for more info on homeschooling in Georgia. There should be a listing of curriculum suppliers there. If there are other support groups in your area, they are probably listed on these websites.
Midday Connection is supposed to be on home schooling tomorrow. It's a Moody Broadcasting program. Unfortunately that's all I can tell you about it. You can probably do a search and find out what radio station it's on and what time.

Good Luck! P~

You'd have better luck contacting a homeschooling support group in your area.
