Hi, I'm trying to get in contact with an old friend. i tracked down what I believe may be their address, but I want the phone number. problem is it wasn't listed on the people search, but the address was (first one at http://www.peopledata.com/results.php?fn=ADRIAN&ln=LOZANO&qbn=LOZANO&qc=CUMMING&qs=GA&sname=ADRIAN%20J%20LOZANO&state=GA&name_style=1).. I could pay $15 to get the phone number, but I'd rather make sure that I can't get it for free. thanks

I don't believe that passing a state exam(s) can make a teacher anymore than going to McDonalds can make anyone a hamburger. However, state exams get more complicated and more expensive as the years go by.

Now, what is your view of people who want to teach full-time but cannot pass certification exams even if their life depends on earning a state license? I personally know people who have a Master's Degree in different fields of study but are not certified because they cannot pass the NY State Teacher Certification Exams.

I personally do not want a teacher in the classroom teaching my son how to read and do basic math if he or she is struggling to pass state exams, which are not easy but at the same time, not impossible to pass.

What is your view of people who want to teach full-time, call themselves teachers but cannot pass state exams?

Here are some silly words I have made up, along with their definitions. I will also use each one in a sentence so you fully understand them.

"Snickgarette": the cigarette you go outside to smoke so that your best friend will follow you and you can talk in private about other people at the party.

"I lit my snickgarette while waiting for her so I could tell her what Mary said Joe said about Lisa."

"Yankmedoodle": the person at the party who never believes anything anyone tells him or her.

"I tried to convince the yankmedoodle that the planet is, in fact, round, but he wasn't having any of it."

"Pastturd": the place in your memory where you park old relationships which should have died by now, but are still hanging around in your memory.

"I put that one out to pastturd years ago, but he still pops into my mind from time to time."

What are some of yours? If you borrowed them from someone, who'd you borrow them from?

Thanks for sharing.

Right now I'm 20 and living at home. I'm going to school on a scholarship that pays tuition only. It's getting aggravating living with my parents and it's hard for women to take you seriously as well. I have a job too, but I dont get paid enough to live by myself with my check. The loan would be for maybe five thousand dollars (Is that enough for a semester?) I want to buy a tv, maybe some stuff for the apartment because I wouldn't have anything to start with, so I figure I need to take out a lot to pay for that. I could use my job to pay for rent and food. The loan would be for books, internet, insurance, cellphone, gas, and random other stuff that pops up. It would definitely help my confidence when talking to women and trying to host more friends which in turn helps you meet new people. That part figures in a lot. My job pays a good chunk of what I need, but for all the other stuff thats involved with moving out . . . i need more money.

advice?

Ok. I need to find 25 adverbs in the following paragraphs. I really can't figure this out!
Although people often say that bread is the staff of life, few know much about bread, except that it can be easily purchased in the grocery store. Nobody knows exactly when the first seed of grasses were ground, mixed with water, and baked into bread; but remains of the Swiss Lake Dwellers positively prove that people already were baking bread in prehistoric times. Egyptian art clearly depicts the planting, harvesting, and baking of grain. Somehow the Egyptians discovered that allowing wheat dough to ferment produced an unusually light loaf, and they soon learned to build ovens in which they could cook the bread. Flat breads, which are usually made from barley, oats, or rye, were the fare of the common people in the European world until the seventeenth century. White bread was extremely expensive and was rarely eaten, except by the nobility. Although acorn cakes are still eaten in certain areas of the world, we do not ordinarily consider crushed acorns as the ideal ingredient for bread. Until improvements in the methods of milling flour were made, it was almost impossible to obtain the fine grade of flour which is mainly used in the white bread we now eat. The early baker diligently ground the grain by hand, but the resulting flour was fairly course and produced an extremely dark and rough loaf. Early stone mills, which were powered by donkeys or water, seldom produced anything but a gritty flour, finely ground wheat became a reality only recently when steel rollers made a fine grinding possible.
Thanks. I really need help with this!
