I've used MLA for English and Art History courses, and APA for Psychology courses... but what about a Sociology course? Should I use the MLA or the APA style format for a term paper? I know I should just ask the instructor, but I don't have his e-mail address and I want to get started on this soon. Thanks.

The sign you see upon entering Yellowstone national park reads "do not feed or molest the animals."
Is molest the most appropriate word here?
Could you suggest anything less...scandalous?

I am confused... some people told me I need to take the GMAT to get into the MBA program but one of my professors said I could just take the GRE... can someone help me clear this up? I think the difference is that the GMAT is required for the MBA but only the GRE for other Master's programs like Finance, Accounting, or Economics.

I seemed to have tried everything with my 12 year old daughter and her homework/study skills.
I keep up-to-date on assignments and remind her of these deadlines.
We made a set schedule and time to do homework.
I give her free time after school before homework is to be done.
I've also tried having her do homework right after school.
I help her by quizzing, making study sheets, etc. for upcoming tests.
I'm good about letting her be independent in getting the work completed. (I don't stand over her shoulder)
I also encourage her to finish homework at school.

Nothing! I mean nothing has worked. My 6th grader is not motivated, does not listen, and is a free spirit.
If I did not remind her to start her homework, she would wait until 10:00 pm or never do it at all.

Do you think I should just 'let-it-go'? At this point I've exhausted all my ideas. I'd hate for her to fail but if that's what it takes I would be willing to try.

Any ideas?

Your help would be greatly appreciated with the following as well.............................
How would you put the following? Please help.

Trait One( a physical description of the character)
He was a huge man, that stood below medium height, he was of average build with a wonderful set of shoulders and a rather large head. He had grey hair and a bony nose and he had beady eyes, with a moustache that appeared to be tobacco stained.

Trait Two( he was a manipulator)
Not many women would be so conveniently sentimental and self sacrificing for the sake of a son born out of wed lock. And that a son a man grown, and a stanger to his own mom. He would not reveal this secret as long as Amelia made him happy and as long as Amelia his loving wife would obey him. becuase if she disobeyed in anyway it would cause him to get very angry and let out poor Amelias secret of her son that was a illigit son.

Trait number 3 - ????
We learn that he cannot be characterized in the term of human virtue or human vice- a man of spiritual counter [part of the land that is as harsh as demanding as a tyrannical as the very soil from which he drew his existence.

Trait 4 He was very hot tempered.

It goes on to make us believe that a Martin did not take the lake road, as he thought with self scathing of his original plan going there to slip down below the willows and around the bend of the cove where he would not be seen by his neighbors. As this had been his fathers secret instructions given to in the boy in full belief that they would obey.He would have to tell his father the truth when he got home and face his fathers towering rage.

trait 5
He was picky as he has every little detail and step that his daughter would take . He would be watching her as if he was a hungry hawke ready for the chance to take an attack on his innocent prey.........................P... help me make this make sense.

We often use the word "man" as an expression (as in "cool, man!"). I don't think it actually means anything, but when I say "man", certain females say "I'm not a man".

Does "man" really mean a "male" in this case? Is it not appropriate to say that to women?

I have 2 400 level classes that I need to graduate. They were not offered in Spring of 07, and will not be offered in Fall of 07. I know most people suggest that you petition the dean, but is there actually any laws that restrict schools from doing this? I live in PA if that info is needed.
