The sign you see upon entering Yellowstone national park reads "do not feed or molest the animals."
Is molest the most appropriate word here?
Could you suggest anything less...scandalous?

Molest, yeah that's correct. You know animal luv is up and many folks are marching and petitioning to have legal marriages between them and their "best friend". We need to protect those animals somehow.

That's weird. I would suggest "do not feed or touch the animals." No. I don't think molest is the most appropriate word.

maybe:
do not feed or touch the animals
do not feed or harass the animals
do not feed or taunt the animals
do not feed or torment the animals
do not feed or interact with the animals...

Molest is a funny word choice...yikes! SD

Harass might be more appropriate. But in the true meaning of the word "molest" it is used correctly.

Molest is the perfect word. Don't be such a prude. It means don't annoy or disturb the animals.

After all, it is you who has the scandalous mind.

Does it really say that? How odd! I am going to HAVE to get a picture of that when we go next year!

I would say engage the animals.

How about do not feed or "disturb" the animals?

Does sound better than molest.

Good question!
