In my english class we are reading Beyond the River by Ann Hagedorn. This is a non-fiction book about the underground railroad. We have an assignment to find articles of current events that deal with slavery. She told us that it doesn't have to be slavery in the traditional sense, that is can be a different type. I am confused and can't think of any other forms of slavery really that fit with nowadays.

Any ideas of types of slavery, definition of slavery, or current events that deal with it?

hey guys. okay, so have to do a HUGE presentation on Wendesday for school it is 15 minutes long, AND it is worth a big hunking chunk of my English mark.

so, i get really nervous in public speaking. the slightest thing that i say some of the guys in my grade will make fun of me. i mean, i could comeback at them no problem, but it just hurts me really inside.

so, i guess my question iss how ot be confident while public speaking, and not take the littlest things to heart? any help on not being nervous will help. ANYTHING.

I'm trying to gather credible information from advocates for, and those against, childhood vaccinations. All reliable sources that are familiar to me such as the AAP, CDC and AMA, are obviously FOR vaccinations. However, I'm having a terrible time finding CREDIBLE sources (not just opinion and personal testimonies, but valid statistics to back up claims, as well... something that I can cross-reference) that provides research findings, numbers, stats, and the like.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can continue with my research on this issue?
Some issues that I will be addressing in my paper are:
*Government mandates on vaccinations VS. exemptions granted (for religious reasons and/or otherwise)
*Risks VS. health benefits
*Misinformation from media
*Possible skewed numbers from drug companies and doctors due to under-reported cases of injury/adverse reactions, and due to profit agendas. (This view probably won't make the cut, but it's still a consideration)
