Cause they then have to struggle with it in high school and college. I don't even remember learning to talk english and of course I know it fluently and am a very articulate individual. If I was taking english as a forgeing language I'd get an A. Why ad the stress of having to study when you could be focusing on maths ect. Why do parents make this choice? All they would need is an aupair you wouldn't even have to pay them very much it would be a live in job and theres tapes you can get you could do allsorts.

I am making a poster with a quote on it for my childrens' school. "Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, it is the parent of all " by Cicero. It will hang on a main bulletin board at a school and the words of the quote will be on it. What are some good ideas to make it look really good?

I posted this yesterday, but..

I've got this essay question for English Literature coursework:

--Although Blanche Dubois is often referred to as a tragic figure, critic Patricia Hern likens her to a 'decorative fungus' and Ella Kazan to a 'doomed dinosaur approaching extinction'. Consider Williams' presentation of Blanche in light of these opinions.--

I'm just checking my understanding of what is meant by 'decorative fungus' and by 'doomed dinosaur approaching extinction', so please can you explain those views to me if you can?

I know docorative fungus is a critical opinion of Blanche, but is 'doomed dinosaur approaching extinction' intended as a critical opinion or a sympathetic one?

Thanks.

As a child I was corrected if a 4 letter word slipped from my mouth. I don't use them today. I often wondered where did these words come from and what makes them offensive.

I am seeking for single words that define and/or symbolizes "the very beginning of night" and "the end of night before dawn". What I mean is a word for when there is no longer any sign of sunlight on the horizon or any trace of it.
