I'm in the Washington, DC area and it's "Restaurant Week." Nice restaurants offer appetizer, entree and dessert for a fixed price that is less than normal prices.

Do I tip the waiter based on what the price was for Restaurant Week or on the amount that the total would have been on another week? The difference isn't huge, but it can be more than a buck or two for the wait staff. What do you think?

I LUV IT... well considering my dad is the ower of all of them... it's kinda hard not to. My favorite thing is the tortilla soup, potato skins, fruit smootie, ceaser salda and chicken fingers!!!!!!!

I work at a fine dining restaurant and although most people know that the average tip is 20% i notice that foreign people, particulary Europeans, dont tip well at all. Do servers in those countries work for tips or do they have a higher hourly rate?
Please note that I am in no way trying to be ignorant to any ethnicity, I do however dislike bad tippers of any origin.

My wife and I went out to dinner with 2 other couples recently. We split the bill in thirds like we always do.
This time we were upset because one couple ordered a $100 bottle of wine and only drank 1 glass of it!
(yes they asked us if we wanted some -after it was ordered- and we do not like red wine.)
This makes me rethink the way we have always split the check.
