All I see is the white apple logo with a black background. It occasionally lights up. I want to restore (format) it but how can I when my pc doesn't even recognize it? I tried reinstalling, reseting, restarting, retrying, etc. Downloading and installing the latest iTunes didn't help. I think one of the reason why my computer doesn't recognize my ipod is because the battery is low, but my ipod won't charge no matter how many hours it has been plugged in. There's no change when I plug it in and there are no indications that it is being charged. All I see is the apple logo. I tried using a charger with an adaptor that you plug in the wall, but all i see is the apple logo, not the battery icon. How can I charge my ipod?

I'm looking into buying an MP3 player. At first I was just going to buy an iPod, but I've come across some info that says iPod is easily beat by other MP3 players as far as functionality, price, and durability. I'm not really sure which one to go with!

Here is what I would need in a MP3 player:

1. An MP3 player that plays FM music.
2. Ease of file transfers. I have hundreds of MP3s stored on my computer that I would like to transfer to my MP3 player. (I heard somewhere that if I bought an iPod I would have to download all my music from iTunes. I've never seen the site, nor do I know much about MP3 players....)
3. This isn't really important...but I would like to find one that has alot of accessories, like skins, cases, etc. I like to change the look as well as protecting it.
4. PRICE...I am going to have to save for one, so I'd like to get the most for my money.

Do anyone have any recommendations? Thanks.
