do u mean externally or in the software? in itunes, once u have attached ur ipod, a new item will appear on the pane to the left side. right click on the name of the pane (which will be ipod by default) and enter the name u want. u can enter as many letters as u want, but only a limited number of letters will be displayed on ur ipod. the name can be seen in ur ipod in - settings> about

You mean the lasered name on the silver backing? You can't without scratching the rest of it.

when you are in itunes double click on the name just like you would add a playlist
