Say I want to display something specific to a person's ip address on my website. For example:
Someone from Jill's ip address goes to a page and they see a cat.
Someone from Bob's ip address goes to the same page but sees a dog.
Nothing horribly complicated like accounts on websites, just slight variations in the text on the page.

Is it even possible? =/

Just putting the text in Notepad, and saving it with a .php extension doesn't work....It saves it as php.txt file.

How in the world do I make a PHP file?

I want to design a page similar to this:

I want to know how to have the source articles appear on the page without having a completely different page for each article.

My concern is that if I have 100 articles in 100 individual .html files and I need to update a link in the header or sidebar, I then have to edit all 100 pages. Can I have 1 article list page that, when an article is selected, the contents will populate in a master template page.

I'm pretty good at finding these answers on Google, but I'm not sure exactly what to search for. So I'm not necessarily looking for a tutorial, but rather some terms/phrases that I can search on that will help me find what I'm looking for.

hello.
i am really stuck on some 'basic' php scripting.
It's about adopting a camel online and isn't for a real website, just one for fun.

Basically, i have tick boxes for additional things people can buy for their camels. Example: breath minds, brush etc.
These things are selected byt he user by them clicking a tick box.

My question is, how do i give each item a value, and make the php add it up depending on wht the user choses?

I just made a new website & my website has frames. It consists of only one page - the home page. Two links I have on my website which do NOT open up in new browser windows do this weird thing where the link opens up ONLY in that one frame. How can I get the links so that they open up in the whole page? My website is cutestcursors.com

I have two arrays. 1 array is an array of distances from a certain point. I know that if I want to sort this by shortest to farthest distance, that is easily done with an array sort. However, my other array is an array of city names that correspond with the distances in the first array. How could I sort the city array such that it would be identical to the distance array order after a numerical sort? Would it be easier to put them both into one array and some how specify to sort only the distance set? I wouldn't know how to do that. Thanks!

I want a FREE website without any "myname.serverhost.com" or "serverhost.com/myname" I want a "myname.com" so don't tell me freewebs or piczo or geocities. It would be best if I could get a domain without ads but I guess ads are okay since you can't always get exactly what you want in life.

All the online tutorials just tells me how to link a dropdown selection to a different page. I want to know the html code for a drop down menu that when you select an item, it will show the information on the same page. Like for example the one of the things listed on the drop down is " picture1", it will show the picture right below it. Can anyone help me? Thank you so much!

Do you think maya, lightwave or blender would be easiest to learn. I am new to the 3d modeling enviroment, however rather than just saying blender because its free or what not. I tried blender and got books on it and actually found it to be quite bad at teaching. Am i missing something? Are the others easier to learn? Are there other programs that are better or easier? Please tell
