I want a FREE website without any "myname.serverhost.com" or "serverhost.com/myname" I want a "myname.com" so don't tell me freewebs or piczo or geocities. It would be best if I could get a domain without ads but I guess ads are okay since you can't always get exactly what you want in life.

Why not just PAY? GoDaddy.com sometimes have sales that lets you register domains as cheap as $5.99 per domain/year. That's like ONE Big Mac combo meal.

If you buy hosting from 1&1 they give you free domain names. How many depends on what package you get.
The hosting is really cheap and even the basic "home" package comes with a free domain name.

The only way to get a free dot com is usualy to buy like a years worth of web hosting - then they throw in the domain for free -- so just cough up the 10 or so bucks to register your own domain name. Most nowadays comes with alot of free stuff, like sitebuilders, blogs and email - I use www.ewebsitesolutions.com...but there are lots others.

You cannot get a .com domain name for free, unless you have a really generous friend who buys one for you. :-)
www.tk domain names are free, however, but your web site has to be hosted somewhere else. The domain name will only direct the user to your web site. So, if you have a web site on Geocities, you can set up http://yoursite.tk to redirect to your Geocities web site. Does that make sense?

I was told about www.freestuff.isgreat.org a few weeks back on yahoo answers and have got my domain for free here.
It is .com and it doesn't have ads but it DOES require you to complete some surveys.
