Programming & Design - September 2006

Im making a unix shell. I ask the user for input and then I have to parse that input and exectute the commands using fork and execvp, etc...

How would I parse an input such as:
ls -l | grep lib | less

so that I can correctly implement the commands in a pipe, etc...

I want to recognize commands like ";" to exectute commands right in a row and ">" and "<" to support file redirection.

Can someone please help me?

Right now, I have a strtok function collecting all of the tokens between spaces. What do I do next?

plz help(destructor should automatically be initialized isn't it?)
i am using borland c++ builder 5.2 is it a factor??

I got to the point that blue screen says:

Setup needs to copy windows XP files onto your hard disk. Select the folder in which the files should be copied.

\WINDOWS(command prompt)

To change the suggested location, press backspace key to delete characters and then type the name of the folder you want to install Windows XP

I've never gotten this message before and I've been trying to install this stupid thing for the past 3 days.

I think I'm close to opening the "genie"

Can any one help with this one?

I am designing a website using php. I want some part of the site to load only once. That is, lets say, after a member made his payment, he wil be redirected to the registration page. Without his payment effected, he wont be able to access this page. Now that he has paid, he will be able to access the registration page. But as soon as he performed registration and click on submit. I dont want him to be able to access the page again, either by using the link or the BACK button. How do i do this? Can anyone help me??

I bought a 23-in-1 USB 2.0 Multi Card Memory Stick Duo Pro Reader, I downloaded the CD, ( little cd that comes with the usb), but when i try to open it ( start+programs+then mulitmedia card reader) this last action if i click on it, it gives me the "unistall". I don't want to unistalled but att the same time it doesn't open the usb. My computer is a little old, but i have windows 2000 and more..so I don't know what is wrong. Can someone help please. Do i need something else or to download another system or have some kind of different support system?? I don't undrestand i followed every step. Please help. Thank you all for your asnwers.

Recently, an ex-employee of my company threaten me to sell the code of one of our apps if we didn't give him money.

We sued him and he got busted by the police. When they interrogated him, he told them that he used a VB6 decompiler in order to achieve the source code.

Now, since then, I've been searching at the net and found no real VB6 decompiler, all that do some apps are "grab" the forms but with no code.

So, does it exist really a VB6 decompiler?

I've got a Mac OS X 10.1.5. All of a sudden I am unable to use i-Tunes. The error message I get is that I need Mac OS X 10.7.1. How on earth can I get my computer updated to that point. I have gone back and found updates back til OS X 10.2.2 and can't seem to find anything earlier. Is there anything I can do to update my computer? I don't know anyone in my area that services Mac. Any suggestions?

HELP! I am using somebody's hacked version of Cygwin to cross-compile something. I installed something yesterday and I think it broke my environment (which was compiling OK). Uninstall appears to have not reset things.

gcc calls as, but cannot find it. I get an odd error. Suppose I "gcc foo.c". I will get an error from as about foo.o having "bfd assertion fail". When I saw this in the past, it was because of cross-compile issues. But this time, foo.o does not exist. I notice that the error message is prefixed with the name of the exe file, which looks kinda like this:
C:\one\two\three/../../suddenly/slashes/point/other/way
If you parse the \ and / correctly, the as.exe file is there, but can this be right?

What environment vars could possibly change that would cause gcc or as to suddenly not work? I check the usual suspects like include and lib...and find nothing unusual.

Any help is appreciated...can add details upon request. Compiling mips-elf code on a PC. Thx
