im new about computers & dont know the terms when it comes to computer. i know im bad because im checking my husbands files and i dont want him to know it. ok here's my problem. While checking on his files (its all written in Japanese) its on the start button i dont know what i done and one of his folder appear on the desktop icon? i not sure if thats the right term...its like this if u close all the websites,,,
the left icons will be seen,like yahoo messenger,yahoo asia,internet explorer,microsoft outlook, and many more....there i accidentally add one of my husbands folder...anyone knows how to remove it from the top page (its when u turn ur computer on,that'sthe first screen u will see,blue background & icons only)without deleting it from his files? when i click start button its all in japanese so please help anyone. simple terms please. thanks.

I had corruption on h-disk, somebody tried to reinstall xp and erased a few partitions, now I get a blck screen after startup. What can I do??

Like when you want to search for something and you type in one letter it will show you everything that you have typed in with that letter. How do you delete those?

OK, so I am BRAND new to the world of Mac. I have a bunch of fonts I've downloaded from misprintedtype.com, but they are all compressed.

1 - How do I uncompress these fonts? There is no WinZip for Mac.
2 - How do I install the fonts? There is no Control Panel in OSX.

About 2 weeks ago i got a message after boot up saying that my cmos battery was low - this resulted in my boot-up sequence changing (instead of the text identifying all the hardrives, cd-roms etc i got a screen with the logo "msi the link to the future") and windows forgot the date and time but everything still worked. However now my computer will not run windows, it always restarts itself just before the windows logo appears (the bit with windows xp and the green or blue? colours going across it) or if it doesn't restart then it just sits there doing nothing. I have tried booting off my other hardrive but no success. I have also tried reinstalling windows but after the very 1st bit where it says "press f6 if u want to install raid and scsi drivers" it then goes blank and there is no more text on the windows install screen. I have 2 copies of xp and both discs to exactly the same. So i was thinking that this problem was due to my cmos battery running out? any help would be appreciated

Hi, I'm trying to find a job in the IT industry now. I have been out of school since 2002 (I have a BS in Computer Information Systems from Devry University). I was told that when I go on interviews I should always mention that I am interested in taking refresher courses in the subject. Especially if I am interviewing for a position that requires a specific skill set which I dont know too much about. Do employers appreciate your interest in taking these types of courses or do they look down to it?

I JUST BOUGHT A USED COMPUTER THAT IS ABOUT A YEAR OLD FOR $200 BUCKS. THE ONLY THING THAT CAME WITH THE COMPUTER WAS THE CPU TOWER, MONITOR, KEYBOARD, & MOUSE. I THINK THE WARRANTY MIGHT HAVE EXPIRED ANYWAY THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS THAT WHEN I TRY TO INSTALL NEW PROGRAMS I KEEP GETTING THIS MESSAGE THAT SAYS "YOU DO NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT RIGHTS PLEASE LOG IN AS AN ADMINISTRATOR" I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO AND I HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT THE GUY I BOUGHT THE COMPUTER FROM BUT HIS PHONE IS DISCONNECTED & I BELIEVE THAT THE COMPUTER MIGHT BE STOLEN BUT I WANT TO KEEP IT. ALSO I HAVE AN MP3 PLAYER AND WHEN I PUT IT IN THE COMPUTER THAT SAME DUMB MESSAGE KEEPS POPPING UP & SAYING THAT I DO NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT RIGHTS TO INSTALL A REMOVABLE STORAGE DEVICE PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO GET PAST IT OR REPROGRAM THE COMPUTER TO MAKE MYSELF AN ADMINISTRATOR I KNOW THERE HAS TO BE A WAY PLEAAAAAAAAAAASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was a power outage and my PC turned off. I had IE open and MSN there really wasn't much, but now when I turn on the PC it doesn't want to start up. It loads the OS but after the Windows XP screen it turns black and hangs. It sometimes brings up the desktop but most of the time I have to push Ctrl+Alt+Del to get any farther. When it does finally get off the black screen the desktop comes up, as in the bliss background and then it says loading personal settings, that window comes off. Then that's it. No Icons no Start Menu no Explorer. The comptuer works fine in Safe Mode but I don't wanna use safe mode all the time. It's all cheap looking and some programs don't work. I didn't install anything recently and I wanna use System Restore as a last resort, and re-installing as a last last resort.

Please help soon.

This will be used on medical equipment and adapters do not work correctly with differnt equipment (usb ->serial, pcmcia serial, ect)
-will also need to be a name brand (Dell, HP, Gateway,ect)

I was given a number to colorado USA...it rings constantly as though it was busy all of the time..I tried to go through operators to see if this was indeed a landline or other..the canadian operators could only do so much for me..the fetch up came when i got thru to america...the colorado operator cut me off mid-sentence,asked me if i was an operator and then had the nerve to cut me off by hanging up in my ear!! all because I was NOT an operator!! the interent person that had given me the number in the first place was ill and I was trying to get thru to them..but could not...I wish to know that IF i was given a bogus number...why could the operator NOT have told me that ??it was ringing busy continually...i needed answers..i never got them..american operators need to learn some manners ....and for what it was worth>.the op was a male! got any ideas as to the busy number??303-272-6292..u try the number..perhaps u can find this out for me!Ask for chad.lol
