You have to allign ure mouse so u can expand ure tool bar...I often re-arrange my toolbar accidentally by clicking too fast up there when I'm not paying attention. Just make sure the arrows are up and down and hole the left click on the mouse while you pull down the toolbar it should come back...

right click on your tool bar and select customize and you back button should be on in the list of buttons you can add

Go to - View - Toolbars - Standard buttons. Make sure these are turned on.
Otherwise got to View - Toolbars - Customise and put it back that way.

go to views. then toolbars. then customize. you can add or delete whatever buttons you would like.
