Too many of my contacts are ignorant sods who appear offline, is there a way for me to see if they are hiding or actually offline?

Normally when one of your friends enters the room you receive a ping telling you they have arrived. When you open msn messenger it shows the people on line in Green If they are busy etc it tells you. If they are not green they are offline.
You could always try to send them a message and see what happens

The purpose of that is so that you cannot see if they are online...The only way to know is to send them an IM anyway and see if they respond...

if you do a search on yahoo then i believe there is a free downloadable package whereby you can see who has put you on block etc

Well if they are so ignorant DELETE them and get so new friends
