Internet - January 2007

Hello,
I have set up my gmail account through Outlook, and I can receive emails fine - but I can't seem to send them...
When I test my account setting, it doesnt send the test email because (error message): Unable to send test message. Please verify the email address field.
All my settings seems to be correct, it used to work fine in Outlook Express, but now that I've got Outlook, I can't send anything.
Any suggestions?

if I think my ex is checking my email, besides asking, how easy would it be for me to check this out?
could I just ask my internet provider who's checked my email? or when it's been checked?

I am having problems connection to craigslist.com period... it is getting me to everything but that... site... help!... I noticed that pretty much everything you download leave a cookie in the temporary internet download file. If I were to start erasing this stuff, would it delete stuff the computer needs to function with?

Is it best for me to type my bid with 15 seconds to the end of the auction and risk something going wrong with my computer etc etc. Or keying in my massive high bid with a week to go and just pay what I have to pay.. I collect old british coins and I have been looking for this coin for over a year now. I WILL be the highest bidder but I need to know when is it best to key in my stupidly high bid. I own a few TV series on DVD, but I prefer to use file versions since they are easier to load and organise without a need for messing around with discs. I assume it is legal to backup DVDs onto a PC for storage, so long as I don't share them online, but the process for doing this seems incredibly hard. Is downloading television using torrents an acceptable means to reach the same end?
