Download Infranview. Here is the link: http://www.download.com/
Then open a picture with it go to Resize it. It's on the tool bar. Change the pixels to 500 on the left. Tada! Sounds hard but it is very easy.
Or change the settings on your digital camera to make all pictures email size. That is actually easier and doesn't take so much effort.

I had that problem before with the picture that I took with my digital camera. What I did was upload it onto Photobucket ~ it lets you re size. Make sure you always have a clean copy of the picture saved in your computer in case you re size it to small and you cant change it back. Good luck

Get
http://www.irfanview.com/ it's a freeware image editor
Open the photo via Irfanview, then select image>resize/resample>on the right side you'll see some standard dimensions>choose the 640x480>click the "HALF" button at the top
That should give you a size that will work, if not keep resizing until you get the desired size

Go to download.com and type in picture or photo resizer in the search box at the top and in the right side drop down menu choose software and hit enter or search and it will bring up free photo resizing software you can download and use . I suggest using the one named photo resizer;it's the one i use and it's simple to use.

Its easy ......
1. download irfan view at http://www.irfanview.com
2. open the image on it.
3. go to Options===>Resize/Resample
or
just press CTRL+R when u open the image
4. select ur settings for it and save it .
5. I use irfan view because its a small program thats fast and uses less space .
