Hi,

5 Days before when i turned on my pc in the morning, i found trojan virus infected on svchost.dll in c:\. I am using Windows 2000 professional with service pack 4. I've installed AVG Free antivirus. AVG detected the virus and i took Heal option. It showed file deleted. But when i took shutdown, it shows error caused to winlogon.exe and instead of shutting down, it again restared the pc. When again login, the same file svchost.dll created in the root of C. Now i moved that file to virus vault. Whenever I am login, one command window running as c:\windows\system32\svchost.exe and stays there. I think this created the svchost.dll file. Now when i took running process, i found 5 svchost.exe instances. How can i rectify this problem? when i compared svchost.exe with my other pcs', size is the same. Please let me know how can remove this shutting down problem permanently. When it is restarted and if i took shutdown option without login, it shutsdown normally.

How do I fix my I-Mac?

I forgot to eject a usb storage device before removing it from the i-mac and now the I-mac wont allow any removable usb storage devieces with out asking me if I want to initialize the disk. My other i-mac dosn't ask me to do that. Is their a way to correct this problem? And if so could you tell me how?

the i-macs both have OS 9.2

I have a question about windows media player.?

I have the latest verision of media player with urge, where you can download music. The music I have downloaded will not play now. I keep getting this message. " Windows media player cannot access the file. the fikle might be in use,you might not have access to the computer where the file is stores, or your proxy might not be correct" I dont know what this means. Its not my pc because I am the only one with access to my files. Can anyone help me?

Office 2003 My son got one at college as part of his tuition It does not need a serial number How?

My son is enrolled at college and students there get software to upgrade their computers. The Office 2003 disk has the name of the school and says "full version". When we installed it did not need a "key". How is this possible?

Need to know what router to get?

Before I go on... PLEASE read what I put before answering.. please?

OK, I need to change my router. My old one is really bad, it was just a super cheap stopgap that's outstayed it's welcome by about 18 months. The push to replace it is because I intend to give it to a friend who's just got broadband til they can buy their own.

Requirements:
Must be 54mbps or better
Must be reliable!
Range is not a big issue, but should be powerful enough to keep up at least 11mbps through a mid-size detached house whose walls seem to be a faraday cage made out of lead (the old one often drops to 5mbps after only 4 - 5 metres & a couple of walls!)
Needs a half decent firewall built in
MUST BE ABLE TO DO *UDP* PORT FORWARDING. This was a big failing of the old one. I wont buy a new one without it.
Prefer not to have ADSL filter built in as i'm on ethernet-workalike cable. Therefore it needs ethernet input port (and 2+ output sockets)

Manufacturer and model code would be nice :)

Error of Registration while working on Adobe Reader?

I use to receive belowmentioned Message while using my Adobe Reader. Please help me in correcting the same as my adobe gets close
Message is:
