how is it possible that someone that lives far away have control over your computer, what i mean is, that if something is wrong with your computer they can fix it from where ever they are!! also how can they read ur emails but doesnt necessary sit at ur computer??? is it possible that they can be the server?can we put a password so that it is not possible? and is it illigal?

About a week ago i turned on my computer and it started making this really loud noise like a motor was inside it and it seems to be getting louder everyday, and after that whenever i go to turn it off it says a fatal error has occured in the blue screen so i press any key and it turns off. and yesterday i went to turn it off, and it did the same thing, but after loads of dots came up on the screen and i couldnt do anything, what is wrong with my computer?

I recently heard something about keylogers and sniffers that can record everyting you write on your keyboard and upload it to a ftp for someone to see. I understant they also record print screens of your desktop as well as usernames and passwords. I want to now how I can protect my computer from such software and how can I detect them on my computer?

I was a philosophy major, I can't help looking at the meta-question.

I would love to become a sort of on-line Dear Abby, and put enough completely honorable advertisers on my web page to support myself. At least, partly support myself; be semi-retired. But I need advice on how to set up a web page where I totally control what advertisers it has. Would I do the "share links" routine with people I do business with, and find honorable? How?

Every time that I click on "video" for any type of news, I get the pop-up window that opens up, but it is all gray and states, "done", on the bottom left-hand corner. No video at all. I also can't get any of the radio stations that I listened to before, just a blank screen of the player, what is wrong with my computer? Why can't I view or listen to my favorite music and videos, what is wrong? PLEASE HELP!!!

*NOTE*
I do not have any pop-up blockers active when I try to view vids, or listen to audio.
