In Windows Media Player, insert the CD, you will see a button/icon that says RIP... from there RIP the music/songs that u select and its done!
To create the settings first, go into options... under RIP u can choose what format, select MP3 (others are wav, wma etc), can also specify where to save the songs.

Audiograbber is very good, but looks a little complicated for the novice. It also doesn't work with Windows XP.
Windows Media Player is the ultimate spyware. I never, ever use is for anything. Microsoft tracks EVERYTHING you do with it. Best to avoid it completely.
Go to http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/gmm/fwcdrip.html
There you'll have several choices of freeware rippers.
