At LAN we are using 8 cores but only 4 cores are used for fuctioning. Why dont use 4 core cable instead of 8 core cable? If we are using 4 core cable what are the problem will come. what are the benefit while using 8 core cable?

I am using Windows XP 2nd edition. When I send any files or programs to desktop using either "send to" or by copy and paste, the shortcut icons do not appear on my desktop

i cant use my internet sometimes...its DSL... not wireless... i think someone is hacking and changing the settings of my internet connection.. cause when i system restore its fine again.. i want ti protect it so.. i wont system restore always... i have mcafee firewall.. updated too...
