Like the others said, it's possible.

Those that share the music are often targeted first, but the trend these days is to also start prosecuting those who download. Unless teh authorities have a long record that shows a lot of downloads on your part, there's only a small chance they'll take action against you.

That's no reason to do it, however...

Through a website is no more or less safe than through p2p. Both maintain logs which may be in, or fall in the hands of those who seek to prosecute people illegally downloading/sharing their works.

Possibly. Sample cases in the uk have resulted in parents recieving large bills for the music downloaded illegally by their kids over their internet connection. The adults are liable, because, they are, well, adults.

The recipient is in breach of copyright as much as the supplier, its like recieving stolen goods.
