Hello, I have received a ticket today. I passed on red light 55 on 40 right in front of a cop. He stopped me, I was extremely nice to him. So he decided to give me a ticket only for passing on a red light. He told me it will only one point on my record. Although DMV Alabama site says it is 3 points. Whom should I believe? I have couple of questions to people who know about tickets.
1. Will it affect my insurance, if yes do you think it is going to be very high? I am 19 living in Alabama.
2. I have looked at ticket and it looks like police officer made a mistake copying my name, twice, last name and my fathers name. I am an international, a lot of people make mistake writing my name. Does ticket still count?. If it doesn't count will that officer be punished for writing my name wrong? Because he was very nice to me, we even shook hands :))). Please answer my questions, and have a blessed day. Happy Holidays

Well, i am not sure whether this concept is possible or not or whether it is prevailing or not...

Here is how a battery car runs...

BATTERY>>>>>>>>MOTOR>>>>>>>DRIVE>>>>>>CAR RUNs UNTIL LIFE PASSES OUT(battery)

If the battery is re-charged at the same time we can run the vehicle a life time without a single penny for fuel,

What I am trying to tell is why dont we engage a generator which are driven by the wheels of the car. and thus produce electricity and recharge

BATTERY>>>MOTOR>>>WHEEL>>>GENERATOR>>>ELECTRICITY>>>BATTERY

It is only my idea. I dont know whether many have thought or is it currently been using it.

Can u suggest something

U.S. Fuel prices are displayed with a 9/10 after the main price, ie: 3.27 9/10. If I requested one gallon exactly, my change should be 1/10 of a penny. Right? What if I did in fact only want one gallon of fuel and I have $3.28 on me, how do I get my change?

If the average annual car mileage is 10,000 miles. How many of those miles would be for journeys that it are essential to made by car?.

That is, how many of the car miles could have been avoided by going by train or bus or walking and how many could have been avoided by simply not going there in the first place?

Perhaps we should go back to having pubs, schools, shops, synagogues, factories and offices all within walking distance.

I just put in a cold air intake in my car, along with lighter pulleys ... for my next mod, Im thinking Headers, and my question is:

Would it be okay to run headers with no aftermarket exhaust? Would this have any sort of negative effect on my car? I hear people going with intake, headers, and exhaust, but never intake and headers alone.

The reason why I am so anti-exhaust, is because my car is a 4-cylinder ... and every exhaust for it sounds "super ricer".

I was just browsing the autotrader site and noticed that little '90-'93 Honda Civic hatchbacks with close to 200,000 miles still sell for anywhere between $3,000 and $6,000. How and why is this? Are they THAT reliable? I mean, you can buy a used 2006 Chevy Cobalt with under 30,000 miles for well under $9,000. I've heard of Hondas lasting "forever", but are they really worth that kind of money for a 10-15 year old car with close to 200,000 miles?

Ok, well, I have the choice between a silver 1999 Chrysler LHS or a silver 2000 Dodge Intrepid. Some things you might want to know:

-They are within 100 miles of each other.
-Both have V6's.
-Neither have any rust.
-Both have remote start.
-The LHS has leather interior.

So which one would you choose if you had too? Please don't base your desicion on which car manufacturer you like best. I know it'll be hard without seeing pictures, but I am so clueless! My parents want me to do research and make a decision for myself. I know NOTHING about cars! So, if you know anything important about either of these cars (like MPG) and you'd like to throw that in with your answer, I'd be very greatful! Thanks and happy holidays!

i do not see the logic of buying an SUV instead of a 4 door sedan. SUV's have poor fuel economy, are harder to park or maneuver in tight spaces, and have a very high tendency to rollover in a crash compared to the roll over probability of 4 door sedan.

They block the view of a person in sedan who is trying to back out of a parking space located at the side of the SUV spot.

And in many cases they will exceed the price of a 4 door sedan and have less features/luxury than sedan. And they also cause more environmental damage than sedan because the SUV tailpipes emit way more smoke and air damaging particles.

Even if the 4 door sedan costs more, it is worth it. It has better acceleration and easier to handle than SUV.
