my permit expired on June 27, 2006 my birthday so is it necessary for me to renew the permit and then when I get my own car(cuz I dont like driving my mother's car) I can go for my license?

But I'm wondering if my permit has to be good, meaning not expired, for me to take the driving test to get my license?
Or can my permit be expired and when I'm ready to go for my license I can just take the driving test without having to take the test for my permit over?

(Do you understand what I'm trying to ask? I hope so.)

Its over $3.00/gallon in Atlanta GA. I think it might increase more in the summer. Not many people are completely affected by it because I do not see anyone in the office commuting or at least carpooling. Some of my coworkers say it will take the price increase to go up to at least $4.00 for them to actually start looking for alternate commuting. How much is too much?

I'm trading in my Jeep because I don't need four-wheel drive any longer (moving South). Any advice on a car where I can get good gas mileage but still look cute? I'm only 25 so I want to be economical but still have an attractive car.

Most energy from gas is wasted as heat. It seems gunpowder could be a way to get around oil dependence., and the most "bang for the buck"!

I am just curious because it would be funny to see. It would be like watching a 1940's racing car film. I imagine some junkyards derbied newer cars because they get the impounded, and insurance wrecks.
