This is purely hypothetical, but suppose that I got a hold of a decent-quality '54 Chevy that runs, has no rust, etc. If I took it to a custom shop, how much would it cost to give it a chop, some body work, a flame paint job, new engine, AC, etc.? I'm not talking super-high-tech fancy stuff, just a good custom job. Can anyone give me a ballpark figure? I really have no idea what it would be.

For daily driving, and also racing, which would you rather have. Remember, the EVO is faster, but it lacks the " refinement " of the Subie.

Some of my friends were out at a bar, and one of them was really wrecked. They decided to head back home, and had to stop at a gas station for this guy to "relieve" himself, but the cashiers called the police and said they had been driving under influence ( the really wrecked one fell into a chip display, which prompted the phone call ). The driver had NOT been drinking, and the cashiers have no solid evidence that the driver had been drinking. When the police arrived, they all left and continued driving home, without seeing the cops again until they were parked in their own driveway -- which is when the police tried to give the driver a breathalyzer test. He wasn't thrilled about the idea, as he doesn't like "unclean" things ( public bathrooms, and the like ), hadn't been drinking, and refused. Even though he explained this to the officers, he now has a court date for "refusal of breathalyzer" charges in September. Are these charges valid in this situation?

Right now I guess I would have the exact amount to pay off my car that I bought on LOAN. If I pay it completely then I will have no money left with me in the bank.

Is there any benefit of paying the loan slowly. I think the bad side of this is that if I would be paying slowly is that I would be paying the interest too. I have full coverage on the car as it is financed. In case of an accident, is it my responsibility to pay off the car. Would the insurance cover it ? Would my financing bank pay for it ?

I got a parking ticket yesterday in a white zone -- passenger loading 5 minutes max. I want to contest the ticket because the lady who wrote me up was unprofessional and unfair. My boyfriend was attending the car while i hopped out to pick up some pre-ordered food. It didn't even take me 5 minutes to get back. Plus my boyfriend only stepped out of the car to help me with the bags....but we were right in front of my car. The ticket lady was just sitting in her car and talking on her cell phone the entire time...and I walked up to her and try to tell her that it wasn't unattended. But she was rude, she raised her voice and said, HOLD ON to me, and she went back to her conversation on the cell phone. So I just stood there for like 10 minutes waiting for her to get off the phone. My boyfriend tried to talk to her as well and she repeated, I SAID HOLD ON. She got off the phone, punched in my info and then just gave us the ticket and drove off. I am trying to contest it. Anyone with exp?
