I would say definitely yes. A very good idea would be to do away with everything else but a chosen method of playing music; it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a partition between the driver and the (usually noisy and badly behaved) children in the back: I can't think of a solution to the yackity yack of the front seat passenger, other than a gag!.
Why don't car manufacturers install something in the vehicle that would prevent it from starting if the driver was over the alcohol limit? I say "why DON'T" rather than why can't, because I'm certain that they could if they wanted to, but none will be the first to do so as it would mean lost sales; it needs the government to make it law that all new cars should be fitted with the device.

Absolutely. We have CD players, TVs we use our cell phones. It's like being in your living room for some cars. Yes, I believe accidents could increase due to all the internal distractions. Very good question.

There is yes...theres the dvd players some people have in the front seat and watch WHILE they are driving. In my opinion I think that if your going to have dvd players, have them in the back seat for the children or for friends or relatives whos going to be in your car. Accidents can increase alot...with what people put in their cars today, theres more paying attention to: cell-phones, people in the passenger's seat, people in the back-seat, dvd players, etc. I see alot of people on the road in their cars who pay attention to other stuff instead of driving...and you have to lookout for them and what their doing because they can't even drive because of what their fooling with. It's rubbish, so yes there are way too many distractions in cars today and yes accidents can increase. They would decrease if people payed attention to the road and knew how to drive and not to other things.

Yes, another one of my friends just got killed the other day. :(

People need to start paying attention to the damn road, not their cells, the laptops, or whatever the hell else they lug around with them. DRIVE PEOPLE!! Get off the freaking phone and drive! I have seen so many accidents because people are too busy with their new toys. I have lost 3 friends so far in the past 2 years, so you tell me.

I am so sick of seeing everybody on their damn cell phones, if it is that much of an emergency to use the phone, pull the hell over. I don't think that chatting about your next hair apt. or your next booty call is that important, especially since in a blink of an eye you could possibly kill a person.

I think the cell phones in cars are a definite cause of distraction. Especially after watching Mythbusters a month or so a go. They did a test where one person drove drunk and another on the cell phone. The drunk driver did a better job.

Yes, i think so in some cases. Like with TVs and DVD players in cars. That's fine for the back seat riders, but what's the point of putting it in the front? How can you drive while watching TV? It doesn't make sense to me.

To a point yes, but I think there are too many distractions on the road too. Advertisements, other cars being driven badly, etc.

Oh, yeah. Just today I almost got into an accident with a guy who was dialing his cell phone and not paying attention. He didn't even notice that I had to dodge him and he just went right on driving without his eyes on teh road.

Yes i agree there are definitely many more distractions than there used to be.Good point but i don't think manufacturers will agree with electronics becoming lease complicated and cheaper they will keep putting in the toys it helps to sell them.

You would think so...iPod adapters, Cell phone adapters, on Star, DVD players, etc. I would certainly think that accidents should increase.
