Is it legal to drive a scooter on the freeway? I saw one on the freeway on Saturday and it appeared this guy had it going full throttle and he was barely going 55 mph. They dont offer a lot of protection either...

You've seen the stickers, "Loud Pipes Save Lives", usually accompanying an annoyingly loud bike. This, to me, is on par with saying something like "Turning up the radio in my car prevents accidents" My point is, is there any concrete evidence that loud pipes REALLY DO save lives? Has anyone's life been saved as a direct result of someone else's reaction to said pipes? Or do they just annoy you too?

So, after spending well over $20k for my Road King, I've become rather annoyed at the lack of performance and torque (this, after spending a tidy sum on making it more comfortable as well with a new touring seat). After riding two-up on a pretty long trip I go back to the Harley dealer and told them that the bike is way under-powered. I was told this is normal and he suggested that I purchase a set of performance mufflers, high flow air cleaner and a remap of the EFI all for only $1,200, so I did. After the work the bike still has a lack of power but gained more noise and backfire. I went back to the dealer and explained to him that I was very disappointed with the performance after the "upgrade". I was told that "this is the way a Harley is". He suggested a Screaming Eagle 103 conversion which would deliver the performance you'd expect after spending what most Harley riders make in a year. This, of course, would only cost $6,500. I feel pretty ripped off - I spend a lot of money on a large bike with a really large engine, and it’s a dog. Why isn't it built with the performance you'd expect as opposed to having to drop another $8,000 to get it to run the way it should out of the factory? Any similar experiences?

Hi and thanks for clicking on my question, hope you can offer some good advice.

I need a socket set to work on my 1995 Yamaha 900S Diversion.

I guess I need metric sockets. What is best to go for the 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch drive/. Can someone recommend a product or brand.

I just want something simply not a whole lot of flash. would prefer a crotch rocket of some sort, just looking to save some money on gas for the summer. Anyone know of good bikes out there that would meet these needs? doesn't have to be anything brand new and would like to be able to work on it on my own too. Thanks

I've had to get a replacement bike after thieves struck last week. But the previous owner was a learner and I'm having problems getting the residue from the sticky back L plates off the plastic fairing and box. Any suggestions?

Including routes, great places to stop and smell the roses, biker bars/restaurants, hotels, etc.

I'm looking more for a travel guide than a personal memoir.

I've checked the four fuses under the seat, they don't appear to be burned out. What else, where else should I check. It's a digital readout on the mileage, and it looks like the speedometer cable does not disconnect from the back of the guage. Could this mean the whole unit is bad? If so, why would that affect the turn signal's ability to cancel automatically?

I will teach my children intolerance towards motor-bikers.
when they get old (it will happen sooner they think) and deaf, and when they be living alone a nursing home, I will tell my children to ingore them.

I wish that when you are not that old, you hearing will be so bad that you will be not able to hear your own pissing. Your physical as well psychological health will be also very bad because you will not able to hear what is going on around you, and you will be frustrated at the world (poor you).
Anyway, when you WILL HAVE to wear hearing aids in both of your ears, we will see how you will feel then. Then I will have my laugh at my medical office.
Than I will be wishing that someone will drive next your house even on louder moto-bike and you will be pissed off and frustrated. AND I will be wishing that you have small children as well.
Damn, you will probably hear nothing and be stupid at same time.
