I've checked the four fuses under the seat, they don't appear to be burned out. What else, where else should I check. It's a digital readout on the mileage, and it looks like the speedometer cable does not disconnect from the back of the guage. Could this mean the whole unit is bad? If so, why would that affect the turn signal's ability to cancel automatically?

I was hoping to be able to take it apart and look at it myself.

there is a sender unit in the transmission that goes faulty. its a magnetic switch. the turn signals are linked to speedo so if it dooesnt work neither do self cancelling flashers. dealer will be able to fix it quick and easy ( but probably not cheap)

Either the speedo is broken or the cable has broken from the wheel. Check the cancel mercury switch for the signals

my speedo dies on a 2000 sporty. seems it was a common problem back then. the turn signals have thier own little electronic module but keep in mind that the self cancelling is based on distance so if your speedo is bad....

It sounds to me like you have an electrical short in your system somewhere. I'll bet they both quit working at the same time. I would take it to a Harley repair person and check it out.

Blown fuse link interior the wiring harness close to the starter relay. is mostly a misplaced floor link. verify each of the fairway screws for looseness. do not overtighten, they're into sheet metal and could strip. Retired Ford guy, cool the following interior the mountains of Tennessee
