my 3th cylinder ignition coil went out. How much should i expect to pay? i called a jaguar mechanic and he told me that job is a big job and he gave me a ball park rate of $800 give or take a couple bucks. It seems pretty high for me since ignition coils cost about $80 so if he is trying to charge me $720 labor thats too much. does any one have any idea on whats the process of changing an ignition coil on a jaguar stype.

When installing the thermostat on a 1990 Aerostar, would one put the spring end facing the water pump, or would the spint end be facing the outlet piece the hose attach to?

i av lost the keys to my car it has aftermerket immob and the ford immob if i take the aftermarket one off complety.
i was told if i take the door lock out there is a code on the lock to be able to cut a new key but there dont have chips in them to be able to program the code into it is there a way round this

ive found a code in the car which is for the radio but having no manual for the car means i dont know how to put it in.
the screen flashes 'code' at the moment. when i press the buttons it changes the numbers and ive done this till it shows the code i have.
what do i do now?
ive pressed other buttons on the unit and the screen then changes to 'wait 30.....wait 29.... wait 28' and so on for 30 mins but then goes back to 'code'.

am i doing something wrong?

I have a 1995 ford ranger 2.3 - 5 speed. The problem I'm having is this. After the truck is driven a couple miles or so, my clutch will not disenage when the clutch pedal is press. Therefore i can not put the truck into any gear. If I let it sit awhile the problems goes away. Or if i bleed the slave cylinder the problem goes away until if drive for a little while. I think that slave cylinder is bad (leaking) but i am not sure. If the slave cylinder is bad will i have to disconnect the bell housing to change it.

A shop told me I would need a 4 wheel allignment and I thought that was weird b/c the rear dosn;t have an independant suspension. Were they trying to rip me of or what?

i have an 88 ranger 4x4 .... and i been having this problem recently .... when driving along ..... it starts dying off like as if the fuel filter was clogging or something .... and starts putting out black smoke out of the exhaust ... and losing power like its trying to die off .... but .. then it picks back up the power and goes ..... it does this quite a bit ..... my cheap diagnostic says the EGO sensor isnt switching but .... i also had this problem with my 2 wheel drive 4 cylinder engine and ... i changed the sensor in that and it didnt make much difference ..... any ideas?

I need to replace my valve cover gaskets. I bought some cork gaskets, cleaned the area around where the gaskets go and even prepped and painted the outside of the valve covers but know I am ready to put them back on and was wondering if I have to or if I should put some kind of sealer on the gaskets before I put them in place. If so, what kind of sealer?

When I drive my Ford Fusion I could hear the rocks hitting the bottom or side of my car? And when I drive my wifes car a Lincoln MKZ I cannot hear any rocks hitting her car? WTH? Could it be the tires? cause my Fusion has a couple of paint chips. It suck I need to come to a conclusion why is happening.

I drive a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport. It has 88000 miles on it. For the past week there has been alot of noise coming from the front drivers side. Now, it only happens when I'm turing the wheel or when I'm stopping. The noise is pretty loud. I was told it is the Ball Joints? How long do they last after they start making noise? I don't have the money to replace them right away...

If Chrysler does the same with the Challenger and GM does the same with the Camaro, we'll ALL be driving Hyundai crap....greed heads. They pulled the same crap when mini vans came out..like they don't make enough profit when they rip you off on trade ins or overpriced parts and service....I hope they all go belly up.

It's a 2001 Ford Expedition, 166,000 miles on it. It had been making some clicking noises for a couple of weeks. I heard nothing when I lost pressure. I'm trying to find out if I can replace the oil pump myself or maybe can it be a sensor?
