Educate yourself before you make stupid remarks about a company that is responsible for massive contributions to North America's economy & is 'giving back' to society in charitable contributions, more than you.
Some of the groups that have received significant contributions from Ford Motor Company
and/or Ford Motor Company Fund include:
· The American Red Cross
· Ford Partnership for Advanced
Education (FordPAS)
· Driving Skills for Life
· Habitat for Humanity
· The Salvation Army
· The United Way
· Juvenile Diabetes Research
Foundation
· United ***** College Fund
· Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer
Foundation
In addition, we have supported disabled veterans since World War I. We are one of the
largest supporters of America’s parks, helping preserve the Gettysburg National Military
Park, George Washington’s estate at Mount Vernon and Yosemite National Park. Ford is
also one of America's largest private supporters of education. We established the Henry
Ford Academy, our own charter school, and we support Greenfield Village, a hands-on
learning center.
Ford is facing a challenging financial situation. But it is important that we continue to give
back to the community, as we have always done. For example, since the first United Way
campaign in 1949, Ford has been that organization’s single largest contributor, giving more
than $428 million through 2004.
The vast majority of our annual contributions, which total more than $100 million, go to
fund programs that improve education, housing, automotive safety, the environment and
many other important areas.
Ford has received many honors for its community involvement. This year, the company was
honored with the State of Michigan’s Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Award, which
honors businesses that demonstrate excellent corporate citizenship by giving back to the
community through corporate volunteer programs, monetary contributions, in-kind gifts, and
employee-driven volunteer service.
Another area where Ford recently received special recognition was for the company’s disaster
relief efforts following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Ford was one of only 12 major U.S.
companies – and the only automaker – highlighted in a special U.S. Chamber of Commerce
publication on corporate America's response to the hurricanes.
Ford donated more than $6.5 million in cash and in-kind contributions and more than 400
volunteers donated 25,000 hours to hurricane relief efforts. In addition, the UAW/Ford team
gave more blood than our two major competitors combined.
Q. Why should customers support Ford if they disagree with some of the company’s
advertising and charitable activities?
A. They should stand by our company because of our innovative products, because for
generations we've been a positive force in American society, and because our successful Ford
and Lincoln Mercury dealers have made their communities stronger.

So, also, Adolf Hitler using Henry Fords production line ideas for a "Better Germany" and the mass killing of Jews is also Henry Ford's fault? Just because it happened then doesn't mean it happening now. True Ford has had a shady past, but they have also done a lot of good. I would like you to find one man/woman who had started just as much as he did and have their ideas still used by almost every production company on earth today.
Also, if you're boycotting Ford, then why not Dodge and Chevrolet. The first Fords had Dodge Brother's engines, and Chevrolet was a parts supplier for Ford in thier companies start. Then if you boycott Ford, you'ed have to boycott Mazda, Land Rover, Lincoln, Mercury, and every other company Ford owns. BUT then the companies they have ties with you would have to boycott!!! So that there hits all the German and Asian vehilces, because parts used in Fords, are made in some of the same factories that parts are made for Chevrolet, BMW, Honda, Toyota, just about every vehicle manufacture has at least one part made in a factory that is supplying another automakers parts. So stop being a hypocrit and get let the past be the past. Don't like it walk (you can't even ride a bike because some of the parts for them are made in the same factories, same with a skateboard [bearings]).
Its like boycotting import vehicles now when they started to be sold in america in the 1960's and 1970's (mass wise), its the past, you can't chage it. Theres a reason why its called History. Like it or not, Racism is a daily being. No matter what you do, racism exists, and will always exist. Get off the pot, man, its over. I own a Ford, and I've known all about the shady pasts. I work in the automotive industry.
Back your facts there. Where are you getting all this Racist Company talk from?

Henry Ford has been dead for some time now, you can't revisit the past, most people that buy Fords don't even know there was a guy named Henry. The Ford Motor Co. has been an industry leader in matters of equal employment for years, I think your beating a dead horse, find a new cause, one that pertains to this century perhaps.

Henry Ford also invented mass production and created the middle class in America by paying his workers $5/day so they could buy stuff including his own Model T.
Ford Motor Company also actively supports Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Habitat for Humanity and many other charities.

Let's place some perspective on Ford Motor company. Ford owns Vovlo, Mazda, Aston Martin, and Detroit Lions football team to name a few. Volvo is a Swedish company, Mazda is Japanese, Aston Martin has British pedigree and the Detroit Lions have a team full of Black men who are milllionares, directly as a result to Ford ownership. As for Henry Ford, he went to Tuskeege University and tried to recruit a fellow by the name of George Washington Carver. Dr. Carver, is famously known for the many uses of the peanut and soybean. He was one of the first proponents to advocate ethanol and bio-fuels prodcuts in the time of Henry Ford. Carver was so successful in Chemistry then sittiing President who was stricken with polio, I believe it was Roosevelt, came to Tuskegee to meet the man who came up with the many uses of agriculture for machine use, plastics and for him, a peanut oil that gave the President some amount of relief with polio. The forementioned brands are just now capitalizing on Dr. Washington's genius in the area of biodegradible products. As far as the issue of race, Ford had his peculiar ways of looking at this issue, but so did Presdents Taft, Harding and Coolidge, try reading their history. Henry Ford acknowledged the sheer genius of a black man, whose gift was in the area of agriculture. At the infancy of what later became an iconic name in the car industry, Ford's record did not stop at his shortcomings, he continued to grow. Consider in this day and time with Bill Ford his predecessor or Mulany, would these Car Czars reachout like Ford Motor Company of yesteryear? And then affirm Carver's brilliance the way Henry did at Tuskegee?

I think everyone who responded to this question, including me, thinks you are a total freaking idiot. I totally agree with ETHOL. You need to educate yourself before you jump the gun and call Henry Ford and Ford Motors racists. You are practically calling everyone who buys Fords a racist, and let me tell you something, I am not a racist and I think you should shut the hell up and go play with your dolls!

Because their daddies told them they are good.......seriosly
Ford is not a racist company although I dont really see why people still buy from them
American motors were awesome back when the motors still had carbs. They were easy and cheap to repair, and also very durable
But folks, times change and as Japan has become the leader in tecnology our american motors have taken a heavy blow.
Although the american motors claim to be made in america 75% of the electronic componets are made in Japan.
If anyone here remebers the late 80's to eraly 90's GM motors where the check engine light stayed on whith no reason. That was the work of the Japanese
If american motor companies go back to low tec motors with easy to replace parts then they would instantly have a advantage over the overseas autos

Maybe you missed the latest news.. Henry died some time ago.. Perhaps you would rather buy a V.W. built at the direction of Mr Hitler.. or some hot Italian cars built by Mr Mussolini's factories.. or a Mitsubishi.. They don't build the Zero airplane anymore.. Or then you could just join the modern world.
