Certain emissions related componants are covered under the manufacturer warranty for 8 years or 80,000 miles.
Here is your warranty info:

If you are within those parameters, go to a Ford dealer service dept.
Even if you are out of warranty, they will have the diagnostic equipment to determine the problem, without costly 'guessing'.

If you have an AutoZone auto store around, first get the error codes read out of your car's computer. Ask them what those codes mean. Also, remove your gas cap and then put it back on making sure it's properly seated. Ask your car dealer whether the emissions light could be a routine maintenance indication that alerts you at a certain mileage like 60,000 miles.

You will have to have it reset itself you also need to have your radio code ready for when you remove the earth lead off your battery then put it back this will do the reset but remember to then put the radio code in.

pull the code and find out what it means, then fix the problem and the light will clear itself.
