I am looking at a car (Fiat Punto) and the owner said the thermostat will need replacing, is this a serious problem and how much do they cost, are they hard to fit for a mechanic?? Is it vital for a car to have a thermostat, Thanks in advance for all answers.

Is a damper with single action better than a dual action unit?I have a Fiat Petra with dual action dampers in front.It is hell on slightly uneven roads, but better on pot holed or very smooth roads.
Is it the dual action preventing the suspension from working or is it something else. Most other cars seem to have front damper units that work only one way.That is they damp only the extending action

Pretty much as th title says really.. What do you all think and why? I think it is the best car Fiat have ever made and that it will be, especially the 20 Valve LE and Plus versions.
