I have a 1960's 13' Boston Whaler and upon flipping it, because it's so old, the weight of the boat made a crack from the rub rail, all the way to just before the hull. I would like to know how to fix this. Should i just grind out along the crack, plug it with fibers and cover it with cloth? Thank you.

I'm kind of puzzled. Instinctively I would say the smaller ship would go faster, but the larger ship is more advanced and has twice as many sails so my doubt increases.

What kind of wind would the smaller ship need to outrun the larger? Would the smaller ship have the advantage in no wind, or lots of wind?

I'm sure this is a common problem for people who dock their boat in salt water, and it's very frustrating!
My speedometer on my boat uses a typical Pitot on the bottom of the transom, that measures water speed by sending pressure through the small tube to the speedometer guage. It rarely works once the boat has been in the water for a while, due to barnacle growth and other marine sludge.
I want to know if I have any other options in a speedometer setting. (I already have a GPS that also gives speed, but I want my guage to work too, plus I don't always use my GPS - I don't really need it for where I go).
Why don't they sell a Pitot that resists barnacle growth, and other sludge? I've even tried painting it with antifouling paint in previous years, and that didn't work either. I've used new Pitots over and over with no luck every year, they fail. There's got to be a better system for a Guage Speedometer!

What do you do with it?

Do you just take it out into the middle of the ocean and hang out on your yacht for a couple of days?

Do you park it at an island and treat it as your own private beach?

Do you fish? I would really think that's what fishing boats are for.

Do you take it all the way over to the Bahamas and treat it like a cruise ship?

What does one do with thier yacht?

I am restoring an old Cherokee speed boat, transforming it into a fishing boat. I am now ready to apply paint with metal flake.

I have Color: MSF16 Deep Marine Blue Med Flake
Size: (MSF) Medium Sized Flake Size-.008 x .008 Hex Cut
Bottle: 2 Ounces (60 Grams) and one GALLON of BLUE Acrylic Resin Lacquer boat paint.

My question is: What is the ratio of metal flake to paint should I mix for best results?

Thank you.

I want to buy a barge but the hull is rusted out.
Anybody know where I can find huge rubber sheets to cover the whole bottom and buy some time before it sinks?
Barge is 64' x ' 21' 4'
It has channels just above waterline (draft 2') where I can bolt this GIGANTIC rubber sheet(s).
Thanks for any help, J.
