Often times you will see an airline that "wet leases" an aircraft from another company. Like a form or type of rental agreement? Thanks.

Seems like on landings the beast is squirly...has to flare wildly, creating a high AOA... wings bounce too heavily. Doesn't seem like it could take that kind of beating for 10 - 20 years.

I will be taking a plane down to Georgia in May and I wanted to know if anyone knew how safe is NWA (northwest airlines)? I am really scared to ride in a plane considering this is my first time. Does anyone have any tips to get over my fear?

I have flown several times since 9/11. Twice going to and from New York and Oregon and several flights to Arizona to Oregon and back. In each flight I would turn on my cell phone to see if I could get a connection. I always got no service available to apear on my sceen.
About a year ago I read on the internet that in order for people to use cell phones on flying aircraft the airplanes would need to have a special antenna installed. This has not begun to happen yet.
So my question would be. If you can not get service on your cell phone while flying in an airplane. On 9/11 how did the people on board those doomed aicraft manage to use their cell phone to call out to their loved ones? I'm not counting the people who used the available at great cost aircraft phones just the ones who are said to have used their cell phones.
Just one of the holes in the vast 9/11 story.

I've always wondered this.
When airplanes go through turbulence you can feel the plane being jostled up and down and from side to side. But in an airplane true scale is so hard to grasp because you're moving through the air at such high speeds. I'm wondering how much (as in, measured in actual FEET), is the airplane actually being jostled from its regular, smooth flying position.
In other words, when I feel the airplane move up and down and my cup of coke almost spills, how much did the airplane just drop in the air? 5 feet? 10 feet? 100 feet? more?

I do not make much money and what I do make goes to a sizable mortgage and utility bills...but I want to fly!

My local airport provides very affordable tie-downs and is across the street from my abode. Flying for me will be far more expensive than inconvenient. I have fixated on the Cessna 150...perhaps I am overlooking an even less expensive GA aircraft?

Chase car, people to hold the balloon, fans, unloading trailers, blasting hot propane flame, no control, rolling it back up, someone to grab the top rope, etc, etc.

Way too many people and hassles involved to get the thing in the air.

The quiet floating part was nice, but the rest of it was a real pain for my kind of personality I suppose.
