Much. The C5 and 747 competed for the same contract, so they are broadly similar. The 747 had the highest takeoff weight of the two at around 900,000 pounds. The A380 has a MTOW of around 1,500,000 pounds.

Galaxy span 67.88m MTOW 380 tons
747 span 64.4m MTOW 413 tons
A380 span 79.8m MTOW 560 tons
