She seems to have gotten a lot of credit for doing not so much. She married a millionaire tycoon, who used her as a prop to build publicity. She never actually flew 'solo' anywhere. She always had a male onboard, including her last flight with her navigator. She wrecked more aircraft than any pilot of her time. Why is she so misrepresented in history, or am I missing something?

After of 4+ hours of flight with a small aircraft in complicated meteo conditions I start making some stupid mistakes. The landing is still ok; I've got 150 hours by now. Am I a lousy pilot? Will I do less such mistakes with more experience or is it a diagnosis for life? It is a dream of my life to make a career as a pilot, I will fight for it but those dumb errors now really disturb me. Hope the answers won't take away my belief in better life. Thank you in advance.

Sorry, I am just curious, my father had one and the wire to the wing flaps broke when he was coming in for a landing, at that time in 1976, there was supposedly 10 left in the USA. Then we heard another crashed and that left 9. I know Art Scholl had one also. The DeHavilland Chipmunk was used in WWII to train fighter pilots I do believe. You just never hear anything about them, ever. It's hard to even find a model of one in a hobby shop.
Between my fathers rare boat and this plane, maybe I have dreamed up his 'toys' he had while I was growing up!

What is the cockpit conversation between the 1st officer and the PIC during takeoff? Usually it is a newer Pilot who does the take off, what if he gets it wrong (lets look at Comair's recent crash) when do you stop the TO run, what is the next step? I would love to hear some " real stories" of this problem. I DO NOT blame any member of the Flight Crew for the accident in KY. I am sure the flight crew did there best, and I am sorry for the loss of life of the crew and passengers.
